AI Makes Materials Visible: Vyee Design × RoomDreaming Healthy-Home AI Material Experience

At the 2026 Grand Health Forum on October 17 in Taichung, Taiwan, interior design firm Vyee Design and RoomDreaming will run a joint booth, "A Healthy Home You Can See": visitors take one photo on their phone and see different building materials in their own space.

Choosing materials before a renovation usually means a small sample, a catalog and a lot of imagination.

But a small sample and a fully finished living room often look very different. Designers, homeowners and suppliers each picture something different, and the back-and-forth goes on and on.

This booth is about turning that imagination into something you can see.

How does one phone photo show new materials in your room?

At the booth, RoomDreaming will demonstrate AI material visualization:

  1. Take a photo: snap your living space on a phone or tablet, or use the demo room on site.
  2. Walls and floors are detected automatically: the system finds the surfaces in the photo that can be changed.
  3. Real products go in: stone walls, decorative paint and wood flooring can be switched, with color, texture and light shown together.

It isn't AI guessing at a look. It's the brand's real product pattern and color code — what you see is that exact product.

Can you see a wood floor's carbon footprint too?

Yes. The booth will use German wood flooring from Taige, a Taiwanese flooring distributor: as the floor goes into the photo, the system estimates the floor area and combines it with the product's carbon data to show roughly how much carbon the floor stores.

A number customers can't use — "so many kg CO₂e per square meter" — becomes "the floor in your room stores this much carbon, about what this many trees absorb in a year."

Why wood floors store carbon, and how to say it without overstating it, is covered in what GWP is and how to make a carbon footprint understandable.

Is choosing green materials enough for a healthy renovation?

No. A green renovation isn't just swapping in green-labeled materials. It also covers design planning, material selection, construction management and final inspection.

So alongside the AI material experience, Vyee Design's team will explain several indicators tied to healthy living:

  • Air: formaldehyde, VOCs, PM2.5 and ventilation.
  • Environment: temperature and humidity, light and sound.

Starting from how people actually live, the aim is to show how material choices and indoor environmental planning connect.

"AI makes materials visible; designers make health understandable." The partnership wants homeowners to understand what materials look like, what the product information means and how it all fits the space before construction starts — moving from looking at samples to seeing materials in their own home.

How can building-material brands use this?

RoomDreaming holds 8,000+ building materials across art paint, wood flooring, tile and more. Brands already using it include decorative paint brands LUXUS PAINT, San Marco, Atarashi and KEIM, and flooring brand Crown Tai — each link opens their visualizer. Brands can use it to:

  • Put it on their website: customers researching products can try them in a photo of their own room.
  • Give it to sales reps: a rep sends one link to a designer or homeowner, who tries it at home with their own photo.

Compared with mailing samples and confirming back and forth, letting customers see the product in their own home first makes the conversation much faster.

FAQ

What photo do I need for the AI material experience?

Any photo of a room taken on a phone or tablet — no special equipment. A designer's render works too. The system finds the walls and floor in the photo and puts the materials on them.

How is the wood floor's carbon footprint calculated?

The system estimates the visible floor area from the photo and multiplies it by the carbon data the brand supplies, giving an estimate of how much carbon the floor stores. It's an estimate, best used to compare products.

Can building-material brands put AI material visualization on their own website?

Yes. Brands can embed RoomDreaming on their own website or give it to sales reps as a tool for talking with customers. It's already used for decorative paint, tile, wood flooring, stone and more.
